Drain excess water from the can of mixed beans. Heat canola oil in a deep pan and add chopped onions, garlic, green chillies and saute for a minute. Once onions are translucent, add crushed tomatoes along with mixed beans. Basic concept is a spicy, watery curry made from sprouted mixed beans called misal served with pav or bread.

- Heat oil in a saucepan, add onion cook until soft and slightly golden.
- Add ginger, garlic, curry leaves followed by curry powder and turmeric powder. Cook for a few seconds.
- Add rest of the spices. Open the can of beans. Drain a little of the water leaving the thick sauce in the can. Leave aside.
- Add the cut vegetables to the cooking spices. Season with salt as per taste. Cover and leave to cook for st least 5 -10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Half way through, add the beans to the pan. Stir gently and, cover and leave to simmer for another 5 minutes until all start to come together.
- Taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly.
- Turn the heat off and scatter freshly chopped coriander. Sprinkle over the garam masala.
- Serve warm with either boiled rice or flat bread.
