Burfi churmu is one of the most favored of current trending meals in the world. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It is simple, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. Burfi churmu is something which I have loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look fantastic.
Burfi is a square or fudge like slice of a mithai and churmu would be finely ground whole wheat flour dough balls. The Churmu is mixed with ghee, jaggery or powdered sugar and some aromatic spices like cardamom and nutmeg and is served along with some more ghee. Instructions in a bowl, take coarse wheat flour and oil/ghee in it. mix and rub the oil and the flour together. Add warm water gradually and knead tight dough.
To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have burfi churmu using 14 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Burfi churmu:
- Prepare 1/2 cup fine semolina
- Take 1/2 cup gram flour
- Get 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- Get 1/2 cup coconut powder
- Take 1/2 cup mixed nuts
- Take 2 tablespoon oil
- Prepare 1/4 cup warm milk or less
- Take 5 tablespoon ghee
- Make ready Sugar syrup:-
- Make ready 1/2 cup sugar
- Prepare 1/4 cup water
- Prepare 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- Make ready 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- Take Few strands of saffron Oil for frying
While making the bati, I have made few extra to make churma. Yes, batis are crushed and mixed with sugar, ghee and nuts. Traditionally it is made by mashing up bajri or wheat flour baatis or rotis in ghee and jaggery. More desi or traditional version of churma called choorma is very popular in Haryana.
Steps to make Burfi churmu:
- In a large mixing bowl add the wheat flour, gram flour and semolina and mix well. Make a well in the middle and add oil and warm milk and combine all to a binding consistency dough. (Take milk 1 tablespoon at a time as the dough needs to be of stiff consistency.)
- Take a lemon size ball in your palm and and press it by making a fist. Press hard and make muthiya. - In a frying pan add oil and let it heat on medium flame. Deep fry the muthia until golden brown. Remove from oil and let them cool. Fry the almonds, pistachios and cashewnuts.
- Crumble the cooled down muthias and grind them in a food processor resembling bread crumbs. Grind the nuts coarsely. - Sieve the churmu thru a sieve. Add cardamom powder, coconut powder,nutmeg powder, nuts and saffron. In a pan add sugar and water and make sugar syrup of 2 string consistency. - Add the syrup to the churmu and mix well. Add in the ghee and mix. - Transfer in a greased tray and garnish with nuts. Let it set. Cut to desired pieces and enjoy

Churma is made using coarsely ground wheat flour, besan (gram flour) or maize flour. The most celebrated of all is the wheat flour churma that can be is shaped into laddus.
