  2. Make ready 1.5 bowl milk
  3. Get 1-2 tbsp ghee
  4. Prepare 10-12 Saffron thread

According to folklore, Modak is considered Lord Ganesha's favorite sweet dish. Instant mawa kesar modak is a sweet dumpling made with khoa/mawa as outer covering with a filling of dry coconut powder mixed with raw sugar and kesar milk. It is a fusion version of traditional and modern modak and is very easy to make without any steaming or frying, and tastes amazing. Traditional Modak is a steamed dumpling made from rice flour and had a filling of coconut and jaggery.

Steps to make Kesar Modak:
  1. Put pan on the gas. Add Milk & Milk Powder and mix it well also add sugar,saffron threads,ghee and give it a good mix and now on the flame and mix it for 20 minutes (Approx) on a medium flame till it separates from sides.
  2. Now put off the gas Cool it slightly then add cardamom powder. Mix it properly with your hands.
  3. Now put milk powder mixture in modak mould and press it. Now take it out. - If you do not have modak mould then make it with hand and give shape of modak.
  4. Note- Add stuffing while making modak in the mould
