Mochi (Japanese: 餅, もち) is Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice, and sometimes other ingredients such as water, sugar, and cornstarch. The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape. In Japan it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki. While also eaten year-round, mochi is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year.

Mochi is one of the most favored of current trending meals in the world. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. Mochi is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look fantastic.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have mochi using 5 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Mochi:
  1. Take 3 cups mochi rice
  2. Prepare Red bean paste 100g or more
  3. Take 1 tablespoon kinako soy flour
  4. Prepare 1 pinch salt
  5. Make ready 1 tablespoon sugar

It is made with a sweet, glutinous rice flour and often additional ingredients like cornstarch, water, and sugar (sometimes powdered sugar). When this mixture is heated and cooked, it forms a sticky dough. Mochi ice cream is a popular dessert.
