Instructions to make Traditional Firni:
- Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes.
- Drain and coarsely grind in a grinder.
- Boil milk for 10 minutes. Add rice flour portion by portion and stir continuously to avoid lumping. Add all rice flour and cook for 2-3minutes on medium heat, stirring continuously.
- Add khoya and cashew nut powder. Stir.
- Add sugar and further cook for 5 minutes. Add half chopped dry fruits. Reserve half for garnishing.
- At this stage, firni is somewhat this. Remove from stove cool for 5 minutes. Add kewra water and take out in serving dishes.
- Serve.
