  2. In a bowl add in the oats, baking powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir together.
  3. Next add in the egg, milk, grated carrot, cooked spring onions and 2/3rds of the grated cheddar. Stir together well until a nice thick batter is created.
  4. Spoon the thick mixture into the lined baking tray. Spread it evenly up to all sides. Sprinkle over the remaining 1/3rd of the cheddar. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until cooked through and the cheese melted on top.
  5. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes then gently turn out onto a wire rack to cool and carefully peel away the greaseproof paper. Once cooled, cut into 6-12 squares, depending on how large you want the portions. :)
