  6. Add the eggs, almond essence and flour and mix together
  7. Butter the loaf tin and add a lining at the bottom with wax paper
  8. Add the cake mixture to the tin
  9. Add a few flaked almonds on the top of the mixture
  10. Bake for 30 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius and then lower the heat to 150 for another 30 minutes
  11. Test with a skewer and if it comes out clean, the cake it ready and should be a nice golden brown on top
  12. Enjoy with either hot/cold with/without a thin layer of butter AND a good cup of tea!
