Slow-cooked Bread is one of the most well liked of current trending foods on earth. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It is enjoyed by millions every day. They are nice and they look fantastic. Slow-cooked Bread is something that I’ve loved my whole life.

Bread made in the slow cooker actually turns out a decent loaf, and it's very easy because this is a no-knead recipe. It is also quick because it requires only one rise; the second rise happens in the slow cooker. Adding seeds or rolled oats not only adds flavor, it also makes it easier to release the bread from the slow cooker. Roll dough into a ball, then place in slow cooker.

To begin with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook slow-cooked bread using 8 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Slow-cooked Bread:
  1. Prepare 1 tsp yeast
  2. Get 1/2 cup warm water
  3. Prepare 1 Tbsp margarine
  4. Take 1/2 cup milk
  5. Get 1 tsp sugar
  6. Get 1/4 tsp salt
  7. Prepare 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  8. Prepare Chia seeds

Place the dough into the prepared slow cooker. Place a double layer of paper towel under the lid to prevent condensation from dripping onto the rolls. Slow cooker bread isn't totally perfect, especially when you compare it to oven-baked loaves. In the oven, that initial burst of high heat helps loaves to "spring" and poof up into rounded domes.

Instructions to make Slow-cooked Bread:
  1. In a medium sized bowl, pour the warm water and spread the yeast atop the water. Leave untampered for 5 minutes to proof the yeast. It'll be ready if it foams a little and the yeast completely dissolves
  2. Melt the margarine in the microwave and stir in the milk and sugar. Pour this mixture into the proofed yeast and stir
  3. Add half of the flour and stir with a wooden spoon to roughly mix before adding the rest of the flour
  4. Flour a working surface and knead the dough until you can lightly poke into it and it will visibly bounce back
  5. Line your slow cooker pot with baking paper and place the dough on it. Lightly press chia seeds on top of the dough. Close the pot and set your slow cooker to it's highest heat
  6. Bake for 1½ to 2 hours. Cook time is really dependent on your slow cooker so give it more time if not cooked by the stipulated time
  7. Lift your bread out of the slow cooker when done and cool it on a wire rack. If it's not crusty enough for you, feel free to give it a few more minutes in your conventional oven (just for the hard crust). Mine browned alright in the slow cooker and I loved the fragile soft top

Slow cooker bread isn't totally perfect, especially when you compare it to oven-baked loaves. In the oven, that initial burst of high heat helps loaves to "spring" and poof up into rounded domes. In the slow cooker, the slow ramp-up of baking temperature means you lose the initial burst of oven heat, and loaves tend to stay a little flatter. Cut a piece of parchment paper and place in bottom of slow cooker. Make sure the parchment paper comes up the bottom of the sides of the slow cooker so when the bread expands it won't stick to the sides.
