- Line a plate with a piece of plastic wrap that is bigger than the plate. Put the mochi cakes on the plastic wrap, and spoon 2 tablespoons of water over them.
- Microwave for 1 minute 10 seconds or so at 600w. Turn the mochi cakes over, and microwave for another 10 to 20 seconds.
- Drain off the water in the plate, top the mochi cakes with cheese and microwave again to melt the cheese.
- Add soy sauce and a couple of shakes of umami seasoning plus lots of shredded nori seaweed, and serve.
- When the mochi cakes are eaten, peel the plastic off the plate and just throw it out. No need to worry too much about dirty dishes. You just need to rinse it off.
