The ingredients needed to make Ginger pickle:
- Take 100 grams Ginger grated
- Take 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds(dry roasted & powdered)
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Asafoetida powder(Hing)
- Take 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder (I used Kashmiri chilli powder & spicy)
- Get 1 lemon
- Take 2 tbspn Oil
- Take to taste Salt
Pack the ginger strips into a container with a tight lid, or multiple containers. Pour the vinegar, sugar, water and salt into a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then immediately pour the liquid over the ginger strips. Ginger pickle is a very popular pickle recipe from the land of Andhra Pradesh and is commonly made and eaten during winters.
Instructions to make Ginger pickle:
- Firstly take the ginger wash it well and then peel it. Then grate it.
- Take a small pan and dry roast the fenugreek seeds and powder it. Keep the other ingredients ready.
- Take a kadhai and put oil, and when hot add mustard seeds and after it splutters put asafoetida and fenugreek seeds powder. Mix well and then add grated ginger.
- Put salt and red chilli powder.
- Keep stirring till the moisture goes & gets into a non sticky paste.
- Turn off the gas & put Lemon juice. Mix well. After it cools transfer into bottle and keep in fridge.
- Your Ginger pickle is ready.Serve with curd rice.
